Wymagania:

  1. Master’s degree in Earth Science or a related field;
  2. Strong geoscientific background preferably in coastal sciences;
  3. Proven experience in 3D data processing and modeling;
  4. Proven skills in image processing and modeling;
  5. Experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), BVLOS and VLOS (up to 25 kg) pilot certificates are beneficial;
  6. Programming skills; knowledge of PYTHON environment is beneficial;
  7. Willingness to travel internationally and to serve on the project in remote areas;
  8. Proven skills in both oral and written communication in English;
  9. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, as well as within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Opis zadań:

  1. Field measurement with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles;
  2. Participation in project data acquisition and validation;
  3. Statistical and geostatistical analysis of 3D datasets;
  4. Data compilation for model forcing and evaluation;
  5. Development of sophisticated means for quality control in acquisition, documentation, and archiving of scientific data;
  6. Development of UAV-based workflow of nearshore bathymetry algorithm;
  7. Presentation of results at international conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals in cooperation with the science team.

Warunki zatrudnienia:

Funding: Scholarship from the National Science Center, OPUS project, number 2020/39/B/ST10/01122, entitled “Influence of surfzone and beach morphology on coastal cliff retreat – INSUMOR“, led by dr. hab Paweł Terefenko.

 

Scholarship in the total amount of 5000 PLN/month, gross, is available for 2 years.

Location: Szczecin.

 

Date of the contest settlement: not later than March 25, 2022

Employing entity: University of Szczecin

Commencement: April 1, 2022

 

 

The Commission will take into account the following criteria:

a) competencies of candidates to perform specific tasks in a research project

b)previous scientific achievements of candidates, including publications in the renowned publishers/scientific journals,

c) research related achievements including scholarships, awards, and research experience in Poland or abroad
